... about Stephen Karpakis
a little bit about myself
I was born and raised in Salt Lake City and enjoy living here and being active in the local real estate market. I obtained my real estate license in 2005 at the age of 18, while a senior at Murray High School. My family has been involved in the real estate industry for as long as I can remember and I was excited to become an agent and join my father's brokerage, Paragon Properties, at the youngest possible age.I kept my focus on real estate while attending the University of Utah, and in 2009 I graduated Magna Cum Laude in Finance from the David Eccles School of Business. I gained applicable knowledge and analytical skills from the finance and real estate courses that I completed as part of my degree; and my educational background serves me well in the real estate field. I also have 6 years experience in the business and have been involved in many transactions of different types. I represent both buyer and seller clients and specialize in working with first-time home buyers. I have also listed and sold numerous bank-owned properties.
There are several reasons why I find real estate to be a rewarding career. I really enjoy the excitement of putting deals together and it is satisfying to see happy clients after helping them achieve their real estate goals. Although there is no guaranteed or regular compensation in this business, I thrive on the idea that the upside potential is unlimited. I also like the fact that my work is quite varied from day to day and I'm not always in the office. I enjoy having the opportunity to view a wide variety of homes in different areas and price ranges. Likewise, I meet people from all walks of life and I find it interesting to encounter different perspectives and lifestyles. I value the relationships that develop from this.
As an active real estate professional, I find it important to stay on top of market trends and industry conditions in order to assist clients in making informed decisions. Staying up to date using market statistics, sales data, continuing education, and other resources available to Realtors®, I am able to provide the best possible service and value to my clients through the buying and selling process. I am also surrounded by a strong network of professionals in other areas of the industry such as mortgage brokers, title officers, home inspectors, appraisers, etc. I like to think of myself as a consultant to my clients rather than a salesman. My goal is to keep clients updated with relevant information and help them evaluate options to make the best decision.
One of the best ways to excel in any area is to learn from and follow the example of others who are successful. One such example for me is my dad Chuck Karpakis. He has been in real estate for 20 plus years and is one of the top producing agents in Salt Lake. I have the privilege of working with him as a team. I have learned a lot from him while I also bring my own unique perspective and skill set to our business. My dad serves as a prime example that in order to have long term success in real estate, or any pursuit, it is crucial to act with the utmost integrity in addition to displaying competency. We also strive for the highest level of customer service and put our client's needs and interests first. If there is any way I can assist you in the buying or selling process please let me know.
